Since 1st January 2015, new vehicles are delivered with a COC (Certificate of Conformity). For the first time, this allows for uniform authorisation in all European countries.
The EU approval was a crucial step. Anyone who wanted to get a TWIKE in an EU country other than Germany or Switzerland had to obtain an individual authorisation in his or her country. This was a lengthy and complicated process. Through the COC it has now become much easier. Since then, several TWIKES have been delivered to France. In other countries outside the EU, the papers have weight. There has already been a TWIKE delivered to Japan as well as one with right-hand drive to Kuala Lumpur.
