Just like the TWIKE 3 over 25 years ago, the TWIKE 5 is largely financed by the TWIKE community. We will deliver the TWIKE 5 / TWIKE 6 based on an online ranking. This is based on the cumulative interest on the advance payments made (incl. interest) on the TWIKE 5 / TWIKE 6 pre-order. It is only possible to secure a TWIKE 5 by making advance orders with advance payments. Not only the TWIKE is special, but also the way it is financed.

In recent months, we have often had to explain the connection between limited financial resources and the resulting slower progress in development. Despite limited resources, we have made visible and impressively tangible progress in our development. Some of the longer development loops had a positive effect, giving us time to create the better solution for some details.

Now, however, we want and need to follow suit financially. In order to be able to start production quickly, we have to order components. To finance the purchase, we have come up with an offer package that rewards the support of early adopters even more than before: The TWIKE 5 PIONEER EDITION.

While a target price was defined at the beginning of the project, which was always a helpful guide for us when planning the budget, it became clear after evaluating the now better known costs that the sales price for cost-covering production could not be maintained. We currently expect the sales price to be at least 15 % higher than our original assumption. The higher costs are largely due to the more development-intensive body platform, which will also be used in the subsequent TWIKE 6.

Although the owner of a TWIKE 5 will also benefit from the higher quality and performance, this investment in the future should not be at the expense of early adopters with early prepayment. On the contrary, with the offer* of a PIONEER EDITION, we would like to give them an advantage and guarantee the originally envisaged € 49,900 for the equipment with the larger battery as a fixed purchase price.

Of course, the offer is not only intended as a reward for the risk borne, but also to provide a decisive boost to the financing of the project supported by the community. On the one hand, we intend to motivate enough customers to make an early advance payment before the start of series production and, on the other hand, to make a strong statement for negotiations with banks and investors, for example, with the order situation backed by advance payments. In addition to the new, attractive PIONEER EDITION offer, there is also the option of regular reservations with a freely selectable advance payment as well as financing support through subordinated loans secured by inventory.

* The PIONEER EDITION is currently not limited in time, but the offer can be withdrawn without prior notice. Contracts concluded up to that date remain valid.
