2025 was a decisive year for TWIKE. The development of the TWIKE 5 has visibly entered the home straight: Milestones included intensive test rides, final design and aerodynamic optimizations, growing community support and decisive steps towards series production readiness.
Here is a look back at the most important adjustments made by the TWIKE team in 2025.
Test drive on the Continental test site in Frankfurt
One of the key milestones of the year was the test drive at the Continental test site near Frankfurt am Main.
We tested the TWIKE 5 rider test carrier under realistic conditions in the cordoned-off area, focusing on the following parameters:
- Driving dynamics and handling
- Acceleration and recuperation
- Stability at higher speeds
The results were clear: the TWIKE 5 showed its great potential as an efficient, agile vehicle that is also suitable for everyday use. The tests confirmed that the concept, construction and design are already very close to being ready for series production. The

Final development phase
The findings from the test drives provided the basis for the final development push:
- Further development of the vehicle software
- Preparation for homologation (ECE)
- Definition of production processes
- Fine-tuning efficiency, convenience and maintainability
The goal is clear: the limited series of 500 TWIKE 5s, manufactured in Rosenthal. We are aiming for the start of production (SOP) as early as possible in 2026. We want to ramp up production to two vehicles per working day and seamlessly transition to production of the TWIKE 6 after around 15 months.
Aerodynamics & efficiency as a leitmotif
A recurring topic in the TWIKE Blog 2025 was the optimization of aerodynamics. Through simulations (AirShaper) and optimization of the design of the outer skin, the drag coefficient was further improved while taking into account the interior ergonomics – with a direct influence on:
- Energy consumption
- Reach
- Driving stability
Optimized ergonomics for fitness and efficiency remain the core of TWIKE’s DNA.
Community, test drives & exchange
Even in 2025, TWIKE is more than just a vehicle.
- Numerous test rides with interested parties, reservers and long-time TWIKE riders
- Personal exchange at events and demonstrations
- Strong commitment from the community, which actively supports development
