The Twike is this incredible electric tricycle whose range can be extended by activating the on-board pedals. Forget the old figures, though: the Twike 5 should be able to reach speeds of 190 km/h and a range of 500 kilometres!

What is this amazing machine? It’s certainly no stranger to those who are used to rallying in electric vehicles in Switzerland and Germany. This fun but effective machine is the epitome of an ecological vision on the other side of the Rhine, where the slogans are backed up by sweat!

A feature of the first Twike models, which were already very energy-efficient, the pedals used to help the bike reach speeds of 90 km/h over longer distances in the mid-1980s, then 120 km/h some fifteen years later. Thanks to improved aerodynamics and a new chassis, Twike promises to take the tricycle up to a top speed of 190 km/h.

A 31.5 kWh battery would give the Twike 5 a range of around 500 kilometres. With special studded tyres and a few adjustments, the machine would be a real terror on sand.
