Diploma AC: TWIKE X – Conception of a Human-Electric Hybrid in Cooperation with TWIKE

Jan-Frederik Niehues, a student at FH Aachen, decided to dedicate his final thesis in Product Design (B.A.) to a design study of “TWIKE X”. This aims to strengthen the TWIKE brand image in a forward-looking way and generate well-deserved attention for this exceptionally sustainable vehicle. He is supervised by Prof. Manfred Wagner and Prof. Dr.-Ing. Thilo Röth

Cycling comfortably on the highway? Getting sustainably fitter while driving?
The TWIKE combines the advantages of e-bike and automobile into one of today’s most efficient mobility solutions. It is a three-wheeled light electric vehicle for two people. Passengers have the option to pedal while driving, which relieves the battery and increases the range. The lightweight design concept thus enables physical activity while driving safely at up to 160 km/h.

The design study “TWIKE X” aims to strengthen the TWIKE brand image in a forward-looking way and generate well-deserved attention for this exceptionally sustainable vehicle. “TWIKE X” stands for a clean, sporty, and practical mobility solution for urban and rural areas.
