The TWIKE vehicle concept and the spirit of the TWIKE community are great constants. For almost three decades, TWIKE has stood for the mobility revolution on three wheels. The TWIKE is the first and only production vehicle to combine an electric motor with a pedal drive. And like the TWIKE 3 almost 30 years ago, the TWIKE 5 is also financed by the TWIKE community.

Nevertheless, the TWIKE 3 and TWIKE 5 are worlds apart in many respects. The small numerical difference between version 3 and version 5 says little about the comparability of the two models . Anyone who has ever ridden a TWIKE 4 knows that. In terms of sporty agility, efficiency and riding comfort , we are in the process of creating a whole new class. In order to bring these ambitions to the road, we are putting a great deal of effort into the development of the vehicle and the associated production concept.

However, this also means that the capital requirements for the TWIKE 5 are on the larger side. It is deliberately not to be covered by banks, but by future customers who understand the product and share our values. Community financing instruments include crowdfunding, advance payments and the option of providing loans secured by inventory.

In the phase of preparing for series production, we are relying in particular on the advance payment of future TWIKE 5 pilots. This financing model was already used for the TWIKE 3 and has also been successfully practiced by Tesla on several occasions. But we wouldn’t be TWIKE if we didn’t go our own way here too.

The limitation of the series to 500 already preserves the exclusivity of the new TWIKE, the purchase alone represents an interesting investment with the interest on the advance payment and the expected high value retention of the limited series.
