The TWIKE 5 celebrates its official Swiss premiere on 18 May! At the former Hasenstrick sports airfield in Dürnten (near Zurich), curious visitors not only have the chance to experience the extraordinary electric vehicle live – but also to take a ride in it.
The TWIKE 5 is not a car like any other. Three wheels, pedal generator, 500 km range – and all this with a fuel consumption of the equivalent of 0.7 litres per 100 km. It is being developed in Rosenthal (Germany), but its roots are in Switzerland: 40 years ago, the first TWIKE was created at ETH Zurich – at that time still using pure muscle power.
Today, the TWIKE 5 combines high-tech, fitness and a clear conscience. Almost 400 pre-orders have already been placed – and the series is limited to 500 units. By the way, there is real fan power behind the preview date: a group of TWIKE enthusiasts from the Zurich region helped to organise the event and also supported the project itself financially.
