2025 was a pivotal year for TWIKE. The development of the TWIKE 5 was visibly entering its final stages: Milestones included intensive test drives, final design and aerodynamic optimizations, growing community support, and crucial steps towards series production readiness.
Here’s a look back at the most important adjustments the TWIKE team made in 2025.
Test drive at the Continental test track in Frankfurt
One of the key milestones of the year was the test drive at the Continental test track near Frankfurt am Main .
On the cordoned-off area, we tested the TWIKE 5 driver test vehicle under realistic conditions, focusing on the following parameters:
- Driving dynamics and handling
- Acceleration and recuperation
- Stability at higher speeds
The results were clear: The TWIKE 5 demonstrated its great potential as an efficient, agile, and practical vehicle for everyday use. The tests confirmed that the concept, construction, and design are already very close to being ready for series production.

Final Development Phase
The insights gained from the test drives provided the basis for the final development push :
- Further development of vehicle software
- Preparation for homologation (ECE)
- Definition of production processes
- Fine-tuning of efficiency, comfort and maintainability
The goal is clear: a limited series of 500 TWIKE 5 vehicles , manufactured in Rosenthal. We are aiming for the earliest possible start of production (SOP) in 2026. We plan to ramp up production to two vehicles per working day and seamlessly transition to the production of the TWIKE 6 after approximately 15 months.
Aerodynamics & efficiency as a guiding principle
A recurring theme in the TWIKE blog in 2025 was the optimization of aerodynamics . Through simulations (AirShaper) and optimization of the outer skin design, while also considering interior ergonomics, the drag coefficient (Cd) was further improved – with a direct impact on:
- Energy consumption
- Range
- Driving stability
Optimized ergonomics for fitness and efficiency remain at the core of the TWIKE DNA .
Community, test drives & exchange
The year 2025 also showed that TWIKE is more than a vehicle.
