TWIKEs have been travelling the country with their pilots since 1995. A lot has happened since then, and despite constant progress, the first TWIKEs, well maintained, are still travelling faithfully and reliably through the countries. In autumn 2012, we built the TWIKE with the starting number 1,000. A great joy and a historic moment. At the same time, we were delighted with our participation and victories in the e-miglia and WAVE rallies, so we would now like to take another look at the TWIKE 1000 – at a time of year that is still naturally quiet for the TWIKE.
Above all, we would like to emphasise what 1,000 TWIKEs mean. On the one hand, 1,000 TWIKEs naturally mean that 1,000 courageous and far-sighted people have taken the step of making a purchase decision that is still rather unusual for most people, thereby making their own lives and the world a little more colourful and worth living in. On the other hand, 1,000 TWIKEs in 18 years also means that, at a conservative estimate, over 60,000,000* TWIKE kilometres have been covered. That’s the same distance as if we had travelled around the world 1,500 times or to the moon and back 75 times. We think that’s worth mentioning.
