As much as the fulfillment of the technical requirements was and continues to be the main focus in the vehicle development of the TWIKE 5, questions of the timely availability and logistics of all components are increasingly coming to the fore in planning.
From the outset, maximum technical compatibility with alternative components, manufacturing processes and procurement sources was taken into account. And yet a shortage of high-quality battery cells for small series manufacturers is currently restricting our choice more than we estimated a few months ago. We have recognized the problem and are working on a package of measures that will ultimately ensure the high performance, range and service life we are aiming for. We will not compromise on the quality of the battery cell and we are also in promising negotiations regarding the earliest possible delivery date.
We are all the more pleased that we have already been able to contractually secure the supply of a no less critical component in the desired batch size: this so-called 3-in-1 drive unit in its combination of motor, transmission and high-voltage inverter is already being used in large-scale production by other vehicle manufacturers and comes from a supplier with an unquestionable reputation.
