What an eventful day! On 12 June, the Next Mobility Day 2026 took place at F&T LaSiSe in Selm. We had promised a unique opportunity to experience the TWIKE 5 live – and that’s exactly what it turned out to be: a thoroughly dynamic event full of exciting impressions and intense driving experiences.
40 test drives under real-world conditions
The weather in the Münsterland region was rather mixed that day, with periods of heavy rain. But that didn’t dampen the mood – quite the opposite. Around 40 test drives were completed. The wet tarmac provided the perfect testing ground to demonstrate the TWIKE 5’s reliability and safety under real-world conditions.
The feedback from participants was overwhelmingly positive throughout. In particular, the stable road holding and agile acceleration impressed everyone from the very first minute.
The Regenerative Braking Miracle and the ‘Passenger Experience’
A particular highlight for everyone on the track was the cornering and braking manoeuvres. These were performed almost entirely using regenerative braking. The ability to decelerate the vehicle so precisely and safely whilst simultaneously recovering valuable energy left a lasting impression. Anyone who took a seat in the cockpit experienced an intense “passenger experience”, where the vehicle dynamics could be felt up close. Despite the rain, all participants clearly had a lot of fun.
A heartfelt thank you to the organisers
A big round of applause and a huge thank you go to the organisers, Dortmund University of Applied Sciences and Arts and RegionWestfalen, for their first-class organisation. The hot coffee and the excellent veggie burgers were the perfect culinary finishing touch to the day.
Our greatest thanks, however, go to our community and all the guests who attended. The personal exchange with you and everyone else about our vision of sustainable mobility was incredibly inspiring and gives us a real boost as we look ahead to the next milestones.
