TWIKE 5 – Design Update

Shortly before completion of the concept phase we would like to us already known effects on the design of the exterior surfaces highlighted. However, the surfaces are therefore still not finalized in all details. This may result in additional requirements from the manufacturing process or from a9> further aerodynamic tests arise. However, the appearance will not change significantly.

Essentially, the vehicle became slightly longer and at the same time slightly lower in overall height. At the same time, the wheelbase was extended, which will have a positive effect on driving stability. The lower total height facilitates the center of gravity desired close to the ground to position and allows at the same time the front surface to be kept optimally small to keep. At the same time, sufficient headroom was maintained even for tall pilots. Although the transparent areas of the tailgate have become smaller, sufficient visibility is still ensured. Good visibility is ensured thanks to improved positioning of the rearview mirrors, even though their final position has not yet been determined. The side window in the entry hatch is now vertically divided into two sections. The front part of the side window is permanently mounted, the rear part of the side window can be lowered into window shaft be opened by. As already described in the article concept-phase-reloaded, we have revisited almost all parts. As can be seen in the top picture, even the design.

Further adjustment loops are still to be expected. However, these are becoming finer and allow less and less room for adjustment as production approaches. However, we already find the design update very successful.
