The concept phase cost us a lot of energy and took longer than we had initially allowed ourselves. However, the result is impressive and we are proud of what we have already achieved and of the excellent cooperation between our development team and the support of our suppliers. With this momentum, we are now entering the next, no less challenging phase – series development.

Our manufactory is located in the heart of Germany. Nevertheless, some of our pioneers, pilots, friends, visitors and supporters travel a long way to reach us.

When developing the TWIKE 5, a high level of serviceability was very important to us. The aim was that a ” standard” workshop should be able to service a TWIKE 5 and carry out the usual repairs. We received a number of questions about this in recent months and were able to answer them as follows:

Bereits das heutige TWIKE 3 hat eine Lebensdauer von über 20 Jahren. Mindestens die gleiche Qualität und Haltbarkeit streben wir für das TWIKE 5 an. Beim TWIKE 5 werden überwiegend Komponenten der Automobilindustrie eingesetzt und somit ist eine hohe Lebensdauer und ein geringer Wartungsaufwand zu erwarten. Auch anspruchsvollere Servicearbeiten sollen in allgemein zugelassenen Meisterwerkstätten (Auto oder Motorrad) möglich sein, sofern eine qualifizierte Elektrofachkraft vor Ort ist. Die Konstruktion des TWIKE 5 ist stärker auf Service- und Reparaturfreundlichkeit ausgelegt. Bezüglich eines Unfalls werden mindestens 3 Ebenen unterschieden, welche unterschiedlich hohe Schutzfunktionen haben.
Die Welt des Automobils ist gegenwärtig im Umbruch. Die politische Vorgabe lautet: weg vom Verbrennungs-, hin zum Elektromotor. Diese Chance hat auch das Unternehmen Fine Mobile GmbH erkannt, das
demnächst das vorhandene Twike-Portfolio um ein größeres Modell ergänzen wird.
Im September vergangenen Jahres haben wir davon berichtet, dass das Twike 5 seine Finanzierung gestemmt hat. Der Start of Production war für den Februar 2020 angestrebt. Verzögert sich nun aber um einige Monate. Wobei diese Verzögerung bewusst in Kauf genommen wird, wie uns mitgeteilt wurde. Nach aktuellem Planungsstand werden die ersten mustermäßigen Prototypen erst im Sommer aufgebaut. Der anschließende Produktionshochlauf geschieht dann im späten Herbst dieses Jahres.
