TWIKE – Invest in the Future!

A specially launched TWIKE.Invest project is intended to secure the complete financing of the development and initialisation of the new vehicle platform for the TWIKE 5 and TWIKE 6. The platform enables a sustainable investment in the TWIKE project and offers the opportunity to become part of the TWIKE community, even without owning a TWIKE.

With up to six batteries, the upcoming TWIKE 5 is set to surpass the record distance of 613 km already achieved by the TWIKE 3.

TWIKE 5 – Mirror mirror mirror

Good news: The TWIKE 5 mirrors are now legally protected. These mirror glasses are specially modified for the TWIKE 5 and therefore allow an optimum rear view far behind the vehicle. And last but not least, the mirrors do not need to be folded in when parking in tight spaces.

The most important ingredients for high energy efficiency in a vehicle are low weight, the smallest possible frontal area and a minimized cd value. But what about the efficiency of the electrical components, e.g. motor, inverter and battery?

The concept phase cost us a lot of energy and took longer than we had initially allowed ourselves. However, the result is impressive and we are proud of what we have already achieved and of the excellent cooperation between our development team and the support of our suppliers. With this momentum, we are now entering the next, no less challenging phase – series development.

Shortly before completion of the concept phase we would like to us already known effects on the design of the exterior surfaces highlighted. However, the surfaces are therefore still not finalized in all details. This may result in additional requirements from the manufacturing process or from a9> further aerodynamic tests arise. However, the appearance will not change significantly.
